We hold lectures throughout the winter, plus beginners’ classes. The emphasis of the lectures is on practical beekeeping. In the active season (Spring to Autumn) we hold practical sessions in the association apiary every week, weather permitting.

The practical sessions range from introductory sessions for beginners on the basics of handling bees, through to  demonstrating various methods of making increase in stocks, dealing with swarms, and various systems of producing queen cells  including grafting etc.

We also give talks to local associations, participate in local shows and run a schools program to introduce young people to the honey bee and it’s importance in ecology.
