Are you interested in keeping bees? Well you don’t have to be a member of anything to become a beekeeper, but it certainly helps!
Gorey Beekeepers welcomes all those interested in beekeeping as a full or associate members, so why not join us? You can get in touch with us through our website contact page, or just turn up at any of our meetings and you will be made welcome. Annual full membership is €60 (additional family members are €35) , under 18s can join for €25, and if you are already a member of another Beekeeping Association, you can choose associate membership for €10.

Benefits of Membership
We provide many services to full members including insurance, honey extractor hire, comprehensive bee book library, and affiliated membership to the FIBKA. For normal membership this includes a subscription to An Beachaire magazine and public liability insurance.
We support beginners in getting started in the craft with our beginners classes every year, theory and practical. We also run a ‘bee-buddy’ program and can supply beginners with a nucleus colony to get started at very favorable rates.
We run frequent lectures on topics of interest to members. For instance we have had lectures on preparing for honey shows, medicinal benefits of honey and hive products, pollination and of course all aspects of beekeeping.
The current standard annual subscription is €60 (about the price of 6 jars of honey), and offers you:-

As soon as the weather permits we hold practical sessions at the association Apiary site every Thursday evening from 4:30pm in the spring, and moving to 6:00pm as the days lengthen.
